
Kristen Anne Bell (born July 18th, 1980)[1] is an American actress and singer from the United States. She began her acting career in the Tisch School of the Arts in New York. At the time she performed in stage productions. The comedy musical The Adventures of Tom Sawyer was her Broadway debut. The Crucible revival came out in the following year. She then appeared in the action thriller film Spartan (2004) and received praise for her performance in the drama television film Gracie's Choice (2004).Her first major role was that of the title character in the teen noir drama the television show Veronica Mars (2004-2007), receiving praise from critics and the Saturn Award for Best Actress in Television for her performance. She reprised the character in the 2014 film , as well as the new season in the year 2019. Bell played the lead in the musical Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical (2005) as Mary Lane. This was an opportunity to reprise her role from her New York musical. Bell was also on the stage in Heroes, a superhero-themed drama as Elle Bishop, from 2007 until 2008. Bell played the role of the titular narrator for the Teen Drama series Gossip Girl. The 2021 sequel will have her reprising this role. Bell also appeared as Jeannie van der Hooven who played the female lead on the Showtime comedy series House of Lies. Bell starred in the lead character in the role of Eleanor Shellstrop on the critically well-reviewed NBC comedy series The Good Place, receiving an Golden Globe Award nomination for her performance. Bell also played the role of Eleanor Shellstrop on the streaming series The Woman in the Home Across the Street From the Girl in the Window.
